How Far Does Each 2027 Cadillac Optiq Go on a Full Charge, From Rear-Drive Luxury to AWD Premium Sport?

Most Optiq shoppers in Quebec are asking one question: how far does each version go, and what do you give up to get more power? The 2027 Optiq answers it with one 85 kWh battery and a clear choice between rear-drive efficiency and dual-motor performance.

This guide sorts the trims by range, drivetrain and charging setup, so you can match the right one to your commute and your longer drives.

Optiq Range and Power Side by Side

Rear-drive trims lead on range. The dual-motor trims trade some of it for a big jump in power.

The Luxury AWD and Premium Sport use the same dual-motor system and list the same 488 km. It is optional on the Luxury AWD and standard on the Premium Sport.

Rear-Drive: The Range Leaders

The rear-drive Luxury and Sport both list 510 km on a full charge. That is the longest figure among the trims compared here. Their 315 hp and 332 lb-ft are plenty for daily driving and highway merging.

The rear-drive Optiq is the natural choice if your week is mostly commuting with the odd longer run. You get the most distance per charge, and you skip the dual-motor system you may not need.

The Luxury and Sport differ mainly in styling. The Luxury rides on 20-inch Pearl Nickel wheels. The Sport uses 20-inch Dark Android wheels with aero inserts and high-gloss black door mouldings. The Sport also offers 21-inch wheels as an option.

Dual-Motor AWD: The Performance Step

Every trim with Performance Dual Motor AWD (the Luxury AWD, Sport AWD, Premium Luxury and Premium Sport) lists 488 km. That is 22 km less than the rear-drive trims, in exchange for 440 hp and 498 lb-ft. It is 125 more horsepower and 166 more lb-ft than the rear-drive versions.

For most drivers that 22 km is a small price. You keep close to rear-drive range and gain much stronger acceleration and all-wheel traction. Ground clearance is 152 mm on the AWD trims.

On the Sport and Luxury, this powertrain is a paid option over the standard rear-drive setup. On the Premium Luxury and Premium Sport it is standard.

For the most performance, the OPTIQ-V is the model to look at. It is AWD with 519 hp and 650 lb-ft. It is built for power, not for the top range number.

What the Premium Trims Add

The Premium Luxury and Premium Sport add comfort and lighting equipment over the core trims:

  • Head-up display, ventilated front seats and heated second-row outboard seats
  • 8-way power front passenger seat, plus driver and front passenger memory
  • Power driver and front passenger massage, and an air quality sensor
  • Slim-line LED vertical headlamps, LED front cornering lamps and automatic headlamp levelling

They also make the 19.2 kW onboard charger standard. That matters if you charge at home on a 240-volt circuit. On the core trims, the 11.5 kW module is standard and the 19.2 kW module is optional.

Charging at Home and on the Road

Every trim comes with a Dual Level Charge Cord. It plugs into a 120-volt outlet or a 240-volt Level 2 source, so you can start charging at home before installing anything.

For a dedicated home setup, the GM PowerUp 2 NACS Charger delivers up to 11.5 kW on a 40-amp hardwired circuit. Professional installation is required.

Optional adapters widen your public charging options. The GM J1772 AC Adapter covers Level 2 chargers up to 19.2 kW. The GM CCS1 DC Adapter enables DC fast charging at non-NACS stations. The Charging Essentials Package bundles the NACS charger with both adapters.

Tech That Helps on Longer Trips

The 33-inch Horizon Display runs Google built-in, with Google Maps, Google Assistant and live traffic updates.

Super Cruise, the hands-free driving technology for compatible roads, is available on the Optiq. So are Adaptive Cruise Control and HD Surround Vision. Wireless phone charging and a heated steering wheel are also part of the picture.

Safety gear includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Braking. The Safety Alert Seat signals the direction of a potential hazard through seat vibrations.

Which Optiq Trim Fits Your Drive

Pick by how you use it:

  • Mostly city and commuter driving, with the odd longer run: the rear-drive Luxury or Sport. Both list 510 km, the longest range here.
  • Highway passing power and all-wheel traction: any dual-motor AWD trim (Luxury AWD, Sport AWD, Premium Luxury or Premium Sport), at 488 km and 440 hp.
  • Faster home charging and more cabin comfort: the Premium Luxury or Premium Sport, with the 19.2 kW charger standard.
  • Maximum output: the OPTIQ-V, at 519 hp.

The 22 km range gap between rear-drive and dual-motor is small. Plan on the trim that suits your driving, not the biggest number.
